Message from Scalby Learning Trust CEO
School re-opening in September
I am pleased to report that all three of our schools, Scalby, Newby & Scalby and Friarage, will all fully re-open to pupils on Tuesday 8th September 2020 following staff training on Monday the 7th which is focused on final preparations to welcome youngsters back into environments that have been adapted with the intention of minimising the risk from Covid-19. A degree of uncertainty both for parents and pupils regarding returning to school is understandable in the current circumstances, though I hope parents will support us and return their child to school this Autumn term. Should parents have specific concerns about returning their child to the classroom, I would urge them to discuss these with the school staff who will hopefully be able to address them and allay concerns. As we all know, the situation regarding Covid-19 is changing all the time and our schools, like all others, cannot guarantee that there is no risk from Covid-19. In such circumstances, we respond by following government guidance, remaining constantly vigilant, listening to stakeholders and then, where necessary, responding promptly, with the safety of all in our schools being our main concern.
